Service Description

A Silk Press is best suited for those with natural hair that wish to straighten their curls temporarily. We begin with a Pre-Treatment containing ingredients such as aloe vera leaf juice and coconut water to detangle, nourish, soften and prep the hair prior to applying any shampoo. Next is a triple-cleanse which lifts excess product and debris off the scalp and rejuvenates the hair. This is followed by a heated intense conditioning treatment/cocktail of treatments and scalp massage to encourage blood flow to stimulate the hair follicles. The heat used during the treatment causes the layers of the hair to swell and open up allowing for deeper penetration of the treatment into the hair shaft. A leave-in treatment is added to the hair and silk-infused products are applied ready for the temporal straightening process using a combination of blowdryer and flat iron techniques. We only work with the best so our range of products include Keracare, Mizani, Joico, Pureology, Design Essentials, As I Am, Shea Moisture and Creme of Nature. We also have our very own in-house brand - Nude London. A rich shampoo and conditioner duo of au naturel products that are gentle on the hair with organic ingredients such as coconut oil, aloe vera leaf juice and lavender oil. This range of products is free from SLS, SLES, parabens and artificial fragrances. PLEASE NOTE: - This is the Silk Press option for all first-time clients and those who have not visited our salon for 3 months+ - Hair that is past the shoulders or is extra thick will incur a surcharge of £20-£45 depending on length/volume. Additional treatments can also be added on if required - We cannot perform this treatment on anyone that we deem as unsuitable for this service. In such cases, we will amend the treatment to suit their hair type and advise on a course of action moving forward to improve the condition of their hair. - Hair that is excessively tangled and/or matted may require a Detangling Service which will be charged at an additional £15 per 15 minutes
